Deputies with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Tuesday who they say drove his car into a house while under the influence of alcohol.
25-year-old Harley Dakota Barnett taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and a violation of open container law.
The charges were filed after deputies responded to a call on November 23 on Old Bristol Highway where Barnett had driven his vehicle through a fence and into a house. Barnett admitted to deputies that he had been drinking. Deputies also observed an open container of beer in the vehicle.
Barnett was taken to the hospital from the scene due to severe injuries he sustained in the wreck. He was arrested in Carter County after having been released from the hospital. No one else was injured in the wreck.
Barnett was booked into the Carter County Detention Center and released on a $1,250 bond.
