Two Armed Suspects Wanted for Kidnapping, Assault and Robbery

Investigators with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office are searching for two men who they believe broke into a home, robbed the occupants, beat a woman, and fired a gun shot at a witness.

20-year-old Shyne McCoy Harmon and 25-year-old Christopher Shawn Harmon are both charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping. Investigators believe they are armed and should not be approached. Warrants have been issued for their arrests.

The suspects were charged after deputies were called to a residence on Horseshoe Drive around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Occupants told investigators that two armed men wearing masks had broken in, held them at gunpoint and forced them to open a lockbox containing cash and a firearm, which the suspects took. The suspects also bound the victims with zip ties. One occupant attempted to call 911 and said one suspect grabbed her by the neck and kicked her multiple times in the head. A witness who arrived at the house and attempted to intervene stated that one suspect fired a gun shot at him and missed.

Investigators were able to identify the two suspects as Shyne and Christopher Harmon. Both are white males. Shyne Harmon stands 5’6”, weighs approximately 120 pounds, has green eyes and has shoulder length blond hair. Christopher Harmon stands 6’2”, weighs approximately 140 pounds, has green eyes, and has long brown hair. The suspects may be driving a black 2006 BMW or a blue 2006 Dodge Charger.

Civilians are advised not to approach the suspects as they are considered to be armed and dangerous. If anyone has information on where the suspects may be found, they are asked to call investigators at 423-542-1896, or call CCSO dispatch at 423-542-1845.
