The Carter County Sheriff’s Office has selected two students to receive a Tennessee Sheriff’s Association scholarship for the coming 2019-2020 academic year.

Jessica Maria Royse and Alec Jordan Price will both receive $500 towards their academic costs. Royse is studying graphic design at Tusculum College, and Price is studying computer science at Northeast State Community College.

“We’re happy to be able to help these students with their educations,” Sheriff Dexter Lunceford said. “We look forward to seeing what the future holds for these bright young people.”

The Tennessee Sheriff’s Association awards dozens of scholarships to in-state college students. The students must either be a full-time employee of a Tennessee sheriff’s office, or the child of a sheriff’s office employee.
