The Carter County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in relation to a shooting that took place Tuesday morning.
Deputies received a call to 121 Blevins Road near Elizabethton at approximately 5:46 a.m. after shots were fired on the street. When they arrived, they found a female juvenile who had been shot while laying on a couch in her home. She transported to the hospital and died of her injuries shortly after.
Sheriff Dexter Lunceford asked for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle the suspects used.
“If you have any cameras in the area of the Highway 321 and Elizabethton Highway, we would greatly appreciate any footage of vehicles from 5:30 to 6:00 this morning,” Lunceford said. “Please call us directly with any information you have, and do not post it on social media so we can investigate as quickly as possible.”
The phone number for the lead investigator is 423-542-1849.
