Lieutenant Amanda Little of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office received a prestigious honor from the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post Tuesday.
The Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post in Elizabethton named Little as Carter County Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for her service as a deputy and reputation in the community.
In her nomination, Little’s supervisor wrote that she “creates a seamless work environment” and has developed loyal subordinates through her “personal and caring manner”. She has had a direct hand in executing the Sheriff’s Office strategy to pursue arrest warrants and reduce crime.
Little was promoted to Lieutenant in September 2019. She is the second woman in the history of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office to achieve that rank, and she currently supervises the warrants division and civil process service.
