Carter County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a man for stabbing a woman with a screwdriver late Monday night.
Deputies were called to a house on Highway 91 near midnight. A woman said she had opened her door to her ex-boyfriend, who then stabbed her in the chest. The woman was taken to hospital and is now stable.
Investigators have charged 47-year-old Naaman Wayne Buckles with Attempted First Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Burglary, and Resisting Arrest.
Buckles is being held in the Carter County Detention Center on a $120,000 bond. He is due to appear in court on December 17.
